On Friday, May 15th, the Round Hill Association (RHA) held their 4th annual Night Out party at Foundation House at 124 Old Mill Road. Approximately 200 residents and neighbors gathered on the grounds of the 75-acre estate on a sunny evening to renew friendships and make new ones. Participants were greeted with valet parking before entering the great hall and preceding to the patio where hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and live music awaited.
Foundation House operates as a non-profit meeting place promoting creative and philanthropic community. The former Old Mill Farm built in 1925 consists of a renovated manor house, stables, greenhouses, and outbuildings among beautiful surroundings.
Guests were welcomed with remarks by Mimi Sternlicht, a long time backcountry resident who created Foundation House five years ago, and Brendon DeSimone, president of RHA. Both informed those gathered about the events and programs which each organization offers throughout the year.
Foundation House is committed to being a local resource that provides a safe place to host robust gatherings, workshops, lectures, and events which includes conversations on compelling topics.
Besides the Night Out party, the RHA has a Neighborhood Day, a Halloween party for kids, a public forum for political candidates, an Annual Meeting for members, a beautification of the traffic islands at intersections, and an Earth Day litter cleanup for backcountry roads.
