2026 Open Annual Meeting Draws Residents

For the first time since before the Covid pandemic, the Round Hill Association (RHA) returned to the practice of holding an Annual Meeting. This one was open to residents. Approximately 100 people gathered on a beautiful June 1 evening in the attractively renovated stable building at Foundation House on Old Mill Road.

The evening began with a social hour, followed by the formal opening of the meeting by Nancy Duffy, Vice President of the RHA. Nancy introduced two new members of the RHA Board of Directors, Mike Pagano and Meridith Curreri, who were elected by the membership. The program then featured the evening’s two special guests: U.S. Representative Jim Himes and historian and author Missy Wolfe.

RHA Board Member Mark Pruner engaged in a “fireside chat” with Congressman Himes and led an informal conversation about his path to public service. Congressman Himes spoke about his experiences living in South America, working on Wall Street, and ultimately serving Fairfield County in Washington. He discussed his priorities for Connecticut residents, including transportation and housing, and reflected on his recent trip to Ukraine. He also spoke about the importance of American values as the nation prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary. Throughout the session, he answered questions submitted by audience members on note cards distributed by the RHA.

Following a short intermission, Missy Wolfe delivered an engaging illustrated presentation on the history of Greenwich, with a particular focus on Round Hill and the backcountry area. Having grown up in the area, Wolfe has devoted years to researching and documenting the people, places, and events that shaped the community over several centuries. Her presentation highlighted how early real estate and property transactions influenced the establishment of Greenwich’s boundaries with both Stamford and New York State. She also shared fascinating stories about many familiar local properties and their contributions to the rich history of Greenwich.
