As the weather warms up and the pandemic subsides, are you interested in hearing good live outdoor music with excellent picnic dinners on selected summer evenings at a local backcountry spot?
Happiness Is Back Country Market is again hosting five summer concert/ picnic series at its location at 1067 North Street in the Banksville Shopping Center parking area every third Thursday of the month starting on May 20th and ending on September 16th. The series, which features rotating bands, was started last year by Christine Salazar and her brother Tom Tegtmeier, who operate Happiness Is, as a way to connect area residents during the 2020 COVID year.
Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased online or at The Market and remember to bring your own foldable lawn chair. Reservations are recommended as the capacity is limited to 70-80 people and can be sold out. The picnic area opens at 6:00 PM with the live music following at 7:00 PM. Pre-ordered picnic box lunch dinners and tickets can be made with happinessiscatering.com and picked up at 6:00. Customers who do so have a reserved table. The series kicked off on 5/20 with music provided by Americas Project, a quartet co-lead by Kelsey Jillette (vocals) and Tony Romano (guitar) with a variety of melodic and soulful renditions. It was a pleasant evening with a capacity crowd of Round Hill and backcountry residents visiting with each other, enjoying the food and beverages from the Banksville establishments, and listening to the music which lasted until almost 9:00 PM with the setting sun.
