Nominations are due by August 1, 2025

Are you a tree hugger?  Do you have a tree on your property that you treasure and means something to you?  Is it big, beautiful, or do you have a personal story to share about it?  Does it have a memory or special history, a unique shape, spring flowers or fall foliage, or old age?  If the answer is yes to most of these questions, now is the time, before August 1st, to nominate it for The Greenwich Tree Conservancy’s “Treasured Tree Program”.

Trees will be selected by a scoring system consisting of Story (25%), Ornamental Value (25%), Uniqueness (25%), Pedigree (10%), Age (10%), and Size (25%).  Winners will receive a framed photo of their tree, an installed nameplate, recognition at a fall celebration, and enrollment in the Greenwich Tree Conservancy’s roster of Treasured Trees.  More details about the program and the form to submit nominations can be made online at http://www.greenwichtreeconservancy.org.

The Greenwich Tree Conservancy (GTC) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2007 because of a concern over insufficient recognition of the importance of trees in enhancing our community, our health, and our quality of life. The GTC is a public-private partnership with the Town of Greenwich that plants trees, locates, and revitalizes the town’s heritage trees. The GTC identifies sites for new trees, guides tree preservation, and advocates for thoughtful tree protection in community planning.
